Xi Chapter was originally chartered at the University of Iowa on March 28, 1912.

In celebration of the Chapter's 110th anniversary, The Xi of Theta Xi Alumni Association was officially recognized by the Grand Lodge as a re-chartered alumni association on June 16, 2022.
